So, Mexican President is sending 10,000 troops to the border to stop illegals and drugs.....Looks like Trump's tariffs work after all.

It's actually a brilliant move on both sides -- our threat worked, and Mexico can "blame the U.S." for forcing it and the chica president can look better (or less bad) in the process.

All this fuss over tariffs leading to an increase in inflation, the scare tactics of the media to influence public opinion, was all disinformation. It was never the point to add costs to trade, but you would not have known that by the coverage.

 

The new administration was crystal clear regarding the purpose behind the tariffs. It was always about the border. Always.

The "expert" on MSNBC is ranting about how this is going to raise prices....even after both Canada and Mexico have announced they are bolstering their borders and delaying tariffs.  Even I can see that, at this point, this is not a trade war with Canada and Mexico.  It is a war against illegal entry and illegal drugs.

i've been saying for years that having a place outside the usa would certainly solve the problem of someone lying about where they are from, which then makes it impossible to deport them back to their home.   certainly would be cheaper too.  i don't agree with us citizens being sent though.

President Nayib Bukele “has agreed to the most unprecedented, extraordinary, extraordinary migratory agreement anywhere in the world,” Rubio said after meeting with Bukele at his lakeside country house outside San Salvador for several hours.

“We can send them and he will put them in his jails,” Rubio said of migrants of all nationalities detained in the United States. “And, he’s also offered to do the same for dangerous criminals currently in custody and serving their sentences in the United States even though they’re U.S. citizens or legal residents.”
