Montreal IL when scheduled at embassy level?

Hi there.
I’m wondering if anyone has any info on the process and timing of interview letters when you’ve been granted an expedite and the consulate seems to be doing the scheduling as opposed to NVC (not sure if this is in fact how it works, but it reads that way).

Context:
• DQ’d Feb 15 granted expedite same day
• Case “Ready” on NVC site Feb 28
• Montreal Canada embassy.

Looks like non expedited cases DQ’d in Jan received their letters overnight.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Also, "expedite" is a relative term in Montreal.  Typically, it takes 6-8 weeks for Montreal to even look at something, let alone action it.

Interview letters for January came REALLY late, and I don't believe anyone received them in February; I'd have to check the other thread.

Fair warning, too.  Just because an expedite was granted doesn't guarantee a 221g or DS-5535 won't be issued.

Montreal is a challenging consulate these days.

Thanks - appreciate your sharing. Looks like ILs went out this morning at 2 am. Some folks who were DQ'd juuust before me got an interview. I'm curious if you've seen letters go out on more than one date ever?

As far as the 221g issuance. Not sure why you'd bring that up - I'm nervous enough as it is. lol

I understand the nervousness, and sorry to upset you, but I think it's important for people going through the process to understand all of the potential outcomes and not be blindsided if things don't go quite as expected.  It's easier to move onto the next steps in any scenario if you know what the scenarios are.

The interview isn't difficult if your relationship is legitimate.  It's really more the formality of checking documents and making sure you are who you say you are.  Deep breath - it will be ok!
