Rejection Notice for I-765

Hello everyone,

I filed my I-130 application for spousal sponsorship (paid $535) and I-485 and I-765 under C9 Eligibility Category (paid $1225). I received receipts for the I-130 and I-485 but my I-765 was rejected because the payment amount is incorrect or it has not been provided. I am unsure what I've done wrong here, as from what I can see if I file under the 09 Eligibility Category, I should mail out two separate checks - one for the I-130 and another for the I-485 and I-765, which I did. Filing fees are changing on April 1, but I did file in Feb.

Please help! I am unable to get a hold of a USCIS agent and the AI machine keeps disconnecting me and it's frustrating.

You posted this under Adjustment of Status from K-1.  Why did you file an I-130?

Sorry, I am new at this so I might have posted at the wrong place. My spouse is a US Citizen and he filed for me as a beneficiary. Could you direct me where to reach for help?

From what status are you adjusting stats?  Tourist visa or student visa?

Payment amount incorrect is usually a generic thing all reject letters state along with the actual issue. I for instance had an issue printing the form and it ended up cut off at the bottom without me noticing, and my rejection letter also stated payment amount incorrect along with "outdated form" or similar wording because the form was messed up. Nothing wrong with my payment. I sent back the same stuff but with a new printed form and the i-765 was accepted just fine.

If you can't find anything wrong with your filing, resend it and include printouts from USCIS' website and highlight the part where it says i-765 fee is waived when filed together with a i-485. Also include a copy of the i-485 receipt notice.

Hello Stefani! Just got the same letter with the same issue. I followed everything as far as fee and got the denial letter. Have you figure this out what steps did u do to correct the matter?

I think the issue was that I sent a cheque of $1225 for the I-765 + I-485 they might have not realized that. When I mailed the paperwork back I made a copy of my Notice of Action where it shows that I made the payment together for both applications. I just attended my fingerprint appointment for I-765 so I am assuming that what I did worked.

Thank you! I guess ill do the same. Did they provided you with acceptance notice for I-765 after resubmitting with supporting documents? I check my status and they scheduled me for my biometrics already for the I-485 but got the mail yesterday that my I-765 is rejected due to payment which doesn't make any sense.

When did you file I-765?
