I have no idea how this process plays out, but our case was DQ'ed October 2023. Since then, I have been subtracting the number of interviews each month from the number of people who were waiting at that time.

311550 November
274931 December
229116 January
186965 February
138848 March

Can anyone tell me if this is the right way to look at the backlog? My thinking was that you only need to focus on the number of people not affected by the visa bulletin who were already waiting for an interview. I could be way off, but any ideas would be appreciated.

At this rate, I don't think anyone has an idea of how this is playing out. I have seen here on visa journey that people who were DQ in October 2022  are still waiting...

How do you know how many people are interviewed each month?

The number covers all embassies but let's do some maths so if the number of people scheduled for March 2024 interviews is 48,117 if we go by this number for the remaining 9 months (48,117 * 9) = 433,053 meaning they will have covered even more people...

Sorry, I didn't see this as you didn't quote or tag me so I didn't get a notification. But I don't see how that helps you, it's stats for worldwide, and some consulates don't have any wait time at all. Plus some process a lot more than others, so it's not going to give you an idea of how things are moving just for Nairobi unfortunately.
