Filed 3/29 before the fees go up. Biometrics reuse notification was immediate. We watched a mock interview on YouTube and my wife is worried about it now. She's very soft spoken and intimidated by official situations like this. She's studying for the civics test, and she will make sure she remembers and understands completely all the questions on the form. Her English is good, so that's not a problem. We are almost to the end of this long process from K-1 and K-2 to citizens!

It's $15 cheaper now for filing fee and biometrics 😉

I am 4 months pregnant. Is it a bad idea to file N400 right now? I feel like there might be issues in the future with the schedule of the interview, and "potentially" the oath taking (If I pass) will coincide around the time that I am close to giving birth...

I just chatted with Emma live chat agent. He said "On 3/19/2024, your were placed in line to get an interview date set at FO". Does anyone know how long will be in line?

I applied on 3/14 night so 3/15 for USCIS record. I just received the interview schedule notice today for my interview on 5/14, exactly 6 weeks from now. I think Emma did not lie to me.

Hi everyone, I just received an email from USCIS about an inquiry I made. However, I don't actually know what this is about since I haven't made an inquiry... . Has anyone else received the same thing? The email came from the official USCIS email address. It says: (blanked out personal information with ---------)

"Dear -------,
This email is to confirm the USCIS Contact Center received your inquiry. This inquiry is regarding:
Contact Name: ---------
Service Item Number: ----------
Inquiry Issue: Case Status
Receipt Number: ----------
Email for Contact: ----------
Phone Number to Contact: ----------
Inquiry Received Date: 3/4/2024 (this is my filing date)
The USCIS Contact Center has a response time goal of 30 days based on your Issue. There is no need to contact us again regarding this inquiry and will respond to your inquiry as soon as we are able. You may receive a response by email, or we may need to call you for additional information."

Does anyone know what this is about? I contacted USCIS and spoke with an agent. However, she was unable to give me a definitive answer.

Applied on the 23rd and just got an interview date for May 10th. So excited!!

Does anyone know how long after the interview you get the oath scheduled? We live in Charlottesville and would love to do the Monticello swearing in on July 4, but don’t know if that’s possible.

May I ask, what did you ask her? Like how?

Make sure to connect with a live agent. Then ask "my case is actively reviewed now, does it mean my case is in the local field office now?" The live agent told me the detail.

You are right! The fee went up for filing from $640 to $710, but the $710 includes the biometric fee now. So I paid $15 more thinking that I was saving money. Ugh

Since it's hopefully the last time USCIS gets money from us I'd be fine either way 😁

Filed the N-400 on 3/29, received the first note on 4/1 and got an update of reusing biometrics and interview scheduled on 5/7!

Boom, that was fast!

According to friends in the region, Idaho, everybody who do the interview gets their Oath Ceremony on the same day. Might be done with this USCIS stuff in less than a month!
