Can I book interview with no welcome letter London Embassy

It has been about a month now since NVC sent us an email with a case number and online it says case ready. I have just submitted ds-160 form and I have the confirmation page and all my documents ready, however I still have not yet scheduled the interview because I have not received anything in the post still. Has anyone experienced this? Do I need to wait for this letter? I am reading so many posts about waiting for the letter to come and then so many others saying it is not needed and to go ahead and book the interview anyway as some people never even receive the letter or they can take months to come.  Has anyone been to the London embassy k1 interview without having received a letter? I don't know what to do just seems like such a waste of time waiting for this letter to show up, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I was in this same position. Our NOA2 was January 18, 2024 and we became "Case Ready" on NVC website on February 16, 2024. We have also been waiting on the Welcome Packet. On https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/ there is a specific line that states what to do in our position, "If more than 2 weeks have passed since your petition has been approved and you have not received a letter from the Embassy, please contact us through the contact form."

As a result, on February 29, 2024 we filled out the contact form (https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/iv-contact_form/). When you fill it out make sure to include your NVC case number, NOA2 date, and NVC Case Ready date.

On March 1, 2024 we got a response stating, "Embassy records confirm that a letter outlining visa application instructions was mailed. Based on the information you have provided, it appears that the letter did not arrive. You need not be concerned because this email can be used in place of the letter. Therefore, we will not be mailing a replacement letter." You will want to print this email for your embassy interview. The rest of the email (and also https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/) explains the next steps (which I've also listed below). (preparing documents, DS-160 (make sure you print the confirmation page), sign up for medical examination, attend medical examination, sign up for courier, sign up for embassy interview (must be AT LEAST 5 days after the medical examination), attend embassy interview).

Hope this helps :D

Hi, you were a massive help thank you so much for all the information. I've got most of my documents sorted and have submitted ds-160 I have literally just been waiting for this letter to schedule my interview 😭 I have filled out that contact form but I received a generic response which looked like a copy and paste job both times 😔 however I have no added in a bit more like you stated and said that our case has been ready since February 16th and I still have received nothing from the embassy and I started off the message with that and also said that I've read in lieu of the letter I can receive am email. So hopefully this time when it's seen they won't just bat me off straight away. Such a pain.
