You will want to apply for EAD/AP though.  Aside from the work/driving issue, you would need AP if you need to travel home for an emergency (and return without abandoning your AOS).  AOS can take >one year.

EAD will pay itself off by any job quickly.

 

AP is insurance. Imagine if family back in home country gets very sick.

 

AOS is already very restrictive and can affect psyche and relationships. Make sure to at least have some flexibility.

 

The cost of living in the US may be higher than in Europe. There's also fewer free resources available and not much safety net. EAD is a must IMHO
