If I brought the Docs that I sent for the I-751 will they still not do the combo interview?

IO may not have time / training etc to conduct I-751. Also, your files may have some internal remarks and comments by USCIS. Even if you bring everything you submitted they may still want to rely on docs they've processed internally.

Of course, I'd offer all you brought to IO if they're ready to accept. But be careful not to trigger them, some IOs are very particular and can get rude and angry if pushed.

My personal choice is not to use sheet protectors or similar. There's nothing more annoying to some IOs than people trying to get docs out of plastic bags. Adds time and noise.

You can use some paper holders of different colors to groups various docs? Green for financial comingling, yellow for tax returns etc? That's how I would do it. In my AOS interview I had a lawyer who pretty much handed papers to IO as they requested it 😅 Before the interview I gave attorney the papers and he organized them however he used to.

I will use paper holders sounds like a great idea!!! and this is where I'm going to put all of my document as well

Do you think I should bring a lawyer to my interview?

Hello!

In was in the same situation as you-had my N400 interview with a pending i751. My N400 letter did not mention a combo interview at all. I brought everything listed on the letter along with anything recent with our names on it. Interview on 2/15, hubs was told to stay in the waiting room, the only things I was asked for were my GC, drivers license and passport- I had gotten a new passport since moving to the US, I was asked for the expired passport too. Officer didn’t ask for anything else. Including waiting time to be called, I was in and out of the building in 42minutes! N400 approved at the interview, got notification the next day that i751 was approved too. Good luck at your interview!

I'm sure album is OK for interview. You just cannot submit albums as evidence.

Make sure each photo is annotated with date, place, occasion and people on it.

They will already have your file that has the I-751 in it. They will take documents for your I-751 while they are processing I-400 interview.

Thanks! More than enough, probably more than us! Our process from applying was pretty quick, we applied in Oct 2023, so it was anything we had from that date forward, which wasn’t a whole lot- updated health/car insurance for this year, invoices with both our names on it, updated bank statements, we brought photos purely because we had been asked for them during the adjustment of status interview. Once the testing portion was completed, the actual interview was fine, a lot easier than the adjustment of status interview. They mostly asked questions that they already had the answers to in our file-where we met, where we live, who lives in our house, we have a 2 year old, they asked about him, where we have lived since I moved here (we moved state over summer), my employment history since being here. The office did ask for dates too: when we started dating/engagement/marriage/lived at address etc. That was pretty much it, I was expecting more tbh.

I heard that's not always the case in Chicago USCIS. but hopefully I will be able to do both of them that day and get a nice and professional officer.

You’ve got this! As my husband kept reminding me, don’t worry about the interview, everything we had/already provided and the answers to any questions were the truth, so there is nothing to worry about it. The testing portion wasn’t as terrifying as I imaged. Sending you guys so much luck, you’re almost at the end!! :)
