You don't know the aptitude, attitude, or motivation of this person.  Whether they can do it themselves is dependent on those factors, not just that they can find the website on the internet.

Well, they found this website to ask the question and many people who have done it themselves rely solely in information they get here, so I do believe that they can do it alone with the help of this community.

The way I look at it is that some people are not DIY

Some cases are not DIY

Many are DIY but we get members who fall into the first 2 categories.

I already told this OP, "If you're willing to do the homework, and pay attention to detail, I don't see any reason not to do it yourself." but the "ifs" mentioned entail far more than simply finding this website and asking question.  If you don't do the homework, you don't know what you don't know, so you don't know what to ask.  We see evidence very regularly of people who didn't do their homework and now they are dealing with the consequences.

How did my question about whether or not the people experienced doing a CR1 on their own thought I had a clean case or would be better going another route turn into this.   I never mentioned I thought I didn’t have the aptitude or due diligence.  I was just looking for advice on my circumstances.  Thank you those that gave advice.  I am certain I can do it on my own but for piece of mind I am leaning towards using a website as others have done here simply for the piece of mind that someone very experienced is going to check over my work.  I’d rather not do this more than once.

That is fine and is a personal choice.  Just remember you should also be checking their work closely as these services or lawyers also make mistakes.

Good Luck!

Using "a website" does not assure anybody who is "very experienced" is going to be involved in your case.

The discussion turned to this because....I....and others think it's irresponsible to tell strangers we know nothing about except that they found THIS website, "can do it themselves".  You "opened' the discussion.  It goes where it goes.
