My Situation

I'm a U.S. citizen and my fiancee is in Wuhan, China. We met online in December 2006. We had kept constant email and phone correspondences since then until we met on June 13, 2007. We fell in love at the first sight. We went on several trips together. For the last three weeks before my return to the US on July 30, 2007, we spent everyday together. She saw me off in Shanghai. The courtship lasted 47 days. She is 28 and has no children.

Is there any red flag on this case? Please comments.

Very difficult to say... Answer could be yes, no or maybe.....

Red flags can cover way more topics than what you mentioned. Red flags also include items such as is she a member of the communist party or terrorist group? Has she ever overstayed a previous US visa? Has she ever commited a crime involving moral turpitude? Does she have HIV or some other communicable disease? etc, etc, etc....... The list of possibilities is simply too long.

Things look pretty good with your case. Just make sure you have all the evidence on hand such as pictures, plane tickets, e-mails, etc.

Good luck with your journey!

So basically all the advice you received in your other thread about getting an initial consultation with an experienced immigration attorney to help you decide what the best course of action is, is being ignored? Now you want each of us on this forum to make a judgement call that we shouldn't be making? No one here can tell you with CERTAINTY that you case doesn't have red flags. My advice remains for you to consult with an experienced, competent immigrations attorney and decide from there whether or not you are prepared to file I129f on your own or with assistance. You received really good advice in your earlier thread.

Read up on the experiences of other members processing through the same country.

Practically anybody with a pulse who has met their fiance in the last two years can put together an I129F packet and get it approved.

Getting the visa approved at the consulate is often a different kettle of fish.

Research and read. Seek the opinion of a qualified attorney. Then go forth.

Jim Quan,

Based on what you have written here - no 'red flag'.

But you've provided very little information. The information that you haven't given may hold a 'red flag' or even a 'show stopper'.

I appreciate all the sound advice I've received so far. People here are really nice and helpful. I have not ignored the idea about getting an initial consultation with an experienced immigration attorney. I didn't come on board until yesterday so I'm still learning and deciding.

Looks good, I met my wife last year July, in Guilin China, filed in August, and had Visa interview last february.

With the consulate in Guangzhou the number of visits to China that you make matters, only 1 is risky, 2 or more is better. I visited China 3 times over the past 3 years.

Like Rebeccajo said read up on experiences of other members who have dealt with the particular country you are dealing with. There is no better place than "A Candle for Love" http://candleforlove.com This site deals excusively with China immigrations issues, and knows very well the consulate in Guangzhou, that consulate even posts answers to questions of a general nature on that site.

Join CFL and ask questions there the members will guide you.

She is just an ordinary person: not a member of the communist party or terrorist group, never been to the US visa, never commited a crime involving moral turpitude, no HIV or some other communicable disease. I guess I'd say that no extraordinary circumstances would apply to her.

I'm also just a normal person.

Learning is the thing that you must do! Please realize that members here can help guide you based on ther experiences and research, but will not be able to tell you definitively what the outcome of you case will be. To do so would be irresponsible.

Welcome to Visa Journey and Good Luck!

Sounds like our case, the Communist party issue is not a show stopper, more like a 4 month speed bump. My wife was a Sargent in the Chinese army, and that did not even cause an issue.
