Medical problem

Aloha kakou,

Joan has her medical scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday of this week and her interview next Tuesday. Over the weekend, mother nature visited Joan. I know from reading here that she will most likely be sent away. How likely is it she could take her physical Friday and Monday and still have her interview Tuesday? Needless to say - rescheduling the interview would be a blow to us both.

What exactly is done these two days? Can everything be done except the pelvic exam - and that be done at the end of the week? What options are open to us??

i think that's why its better to take the med exam as early as possible so things such as this could be avoided or if she knows her regular period days she could have had it last week... although there's always some reason for something why, so im not here to judge hehehe peace... she still could take the med like the xray but its hard to take the urine test if you have period so she "may be" ask to come back again for the other test... my experince then was, since i know i will have my period during my med exam, i really went to an obgyn and asked if she could give me something to delay or stop my period. she gave me some pills to take so i was safe then (no choice since the embassy just game me 3 weeks of notice)... i really hope everythings gona be fine with her. she still could try going there, who knows luck is on her side

If I were her, I would just go ahead on the appointed day and take my chance. There's one lady who posted that she was able to do much of everything except the physical exam and urine test since she was having her period.

What exactly is done these two days? Can everything be done except the pelvic exam - and that be done at the end of the week? What options are open to us??

Day 1 - fill up Patient Data Sheet, digital picture-taking, payment at Cashier, x-ray, laboratory (blood/urine), vital signs, height & weight measurements, eye test, immunization history review, physical examination

Day 2 - Additional x-ray (if required), immunization, document release

tell her to go ahead with her medical. i had mine during my medical. because of my red days,the first day i only had x-ray,blood and urine test, eye exam and vital signs. the physical exam was after it is cleared together with the vaccination and releasing of results.

Unless your timeline is US time [Hawaii time] she is scheduled for her medical today!

She can still go to SLEC for her medical and they will do what can be done due to the circumstances. But for sure, she will be asked to come back for some tests like the urinalysis and the PE (they would not want her to stain the bed sheets ). If she will not be able to finish her medical before the interview, she may be allowed to proceed with the interview but visa approval will be delayed pending the medical results. I believe that most folks would agree for your beloved to push forward on the assigned medical exam date. Just keep in mind that there is a possiblity that she can be rescheduled, but hopefully not. We'll keep the ((((good vibes)))) going so things will go smoothly...

Joan pushed, and got her foot - and the rest of her thru the door at St. Lukes. Yesterday, everything was done except for the exam itself and the inoculations. These will be done Friday when she returns.. Then her interview will proceed as scheduled next Tuesday. All good stuff!!!

But knowing this sequence and timing isn't the norm, I am concerned about something bad happening. The questions I pose to you (collectively) are -

1. During a nice normal physical, what happens between the end of the medical and the interview??

2. Those of you who have been thru this, what are things that might go wrong??

3. What can Joan do to prevent any #2's from happening??

We are sooooooooooooo close. I just don't want anything to go wrong at the very end.

Yes, as far as I know, radiology is done. Just the exam and shots remain. Can Joan do anything to expedite the transfer of medical and passport to the USE??

Joan finished her physical today, and everything seems on track for Tuesday. They asked her when her interview was and assured her the USE would have everything they need.

Is all of the following normal -

they took 3 upper-torso x-rays - front, side and back

they gave her the xrays and and "inoculation certificate"(?) - she only needed one

everything else is supposedly going to the USE

when she asked a nurse if everything was ok, the nurse said she could not disclose results

Does all this sound pretty typical?? Are we over the hump??

I don't know about two sheets. In any case, all sounds good from what you say.
