There is the IRS transcripts and then there is the Federal tax return I do online.

The tax return transcript is what the IRS generates once your Federal tax return is approved.

You need the IRS tax return transcript. Not the federal tax return, THE IRS TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPT.

Hello. I just logged into my IRS.gov account and under 'Return Transcript' section only 2020-2022 is available. However, I need it from 2018-2022 for my Naturalization interview. What can I do? I have not filed my 2023 Federal Tax Returns yet.

'Account Transcript' section shows 2019-2022 and rest N/A.

'Record of Account Transcript' shows 2019-2022.

'Wage & Income Transcript' shows 2014-2023.

What can I do for 2018-2019 'Return Transcript'? Do I need to go back to the online tax website I used to retrieve my 2018-2019 Returns?

Please advice?

Tax return and record of account transcripts are only available for the current tax year and three prior tax years when using Get Transcript Online. Note: There is a "show all +" expand button below the online tax account transcript type that may provide additional tax years you need. Otherwise, you must submit Form 4506-T to request a transcript for a tax year not available.

Tax return and tax account transcripts are also limited to the current and prior three tax years when using Get Transcript by Mail. To get older tax account transcripts,  submit Form 4506-T.

I was just answering about how to get the older transcripts.  I think you would be fine taking the older tax returns themselves if the transcripts do not arrive in time.  I see you have time constraints.

I did do the show all. It shows 2018 for ‘Wage and Income Transcript’.

Is that good enough?

So get the older returns from the online service I used? Do I have to print them all?

Interview on 3/21/24.

Ah ok. What if I do it online? You mean the local SSA office?

Does the office charge for a print copy?

Are you applying under 5 or 3 year rule?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
