Proving Intent to move back the U.S. while Also applying for Citizenship in Canada?

Hello, I have been living in Canada since 2018, first under a student visa, and then under permanent residence since July 2019 after marrying my wife. We are currently in the process of trying to move back to the U.S. since we are starting a family and want family support. We got DQ'ed on January 25th and are waiting for the interview. I just learned that Montreal is pretty strict with their requirements for establishing domicile, and it already took us a few tries for the NVC to even approve the evidence we submitted. That has me already worried that the consulate won't approve it, and on top of that, I applied for my Canadian citizenship recently and have a timeline to take the test.

I debated whether or not I should apply for it in the first place because I really don't like living here, but ultimately decided that it would make my life a lot easier if I had the same citizenship as my wife and 2 children. Who knows what the future holds and if living back in Canada will be back in the cards in the future? it would be nice to have an easier process than reapplying for permanent residence and having to wait again.

Is it going to be a lot more difficult to prove my intent to move back to the U.S. with my recent application for citizenship and potentially get it before the interview? Is there something I can do the ease the consulate's concern if they do bring it up?
