The Gnawa music is incredible...like a combination of Arabic and African! My husband bought me one cd when we were in Morocco because every time I walked by this stall, they were always playing a song off the cd and I just loved it! I would love to go to the festival in Essaouira one day (I loved Essaouira...one of the most laid back places I have ever been).

Me too, Twila!! I loved the Gnawa music and so does my hubby. We are planning/hoping to go to a Gnawa festival sometime on a return trip. I lalaloved Essaouira! It's one of my favorite places in Morocco.
