I had my oath ceremony yesterday.

it has been a horrendous few weeks. My 25 year old son passed away unexpectedly in Copenhagen on July 29th and we flew out there on the 30th, then home to Ireland on August 6th and finally back to Minneapolis 13th/14th for the ceremony yesterday.

I am finished now with the process. Just need to get my passport asap so that I can get back to Ireland soon to spend more time with my daughter. That ceremony will never be a good memory for me in the midst of all this pain.

Tell your loved ones you love them and take care of your friends and family who might be struggling.

So, so sorry for your loss...

Hello all,

Oath ceremony happens where your interview happened? Is there any specific days of a week they set for oath ceremonies? TIA

Depends on the FO. Some do admin, some do all judicial. Search for yours here to get an idea of what your specific FO.

How long does it usually take for the oath ceremony to actually be scheduled?

My interview was on 8/12, the same date the status changed to "recommended for approval" and "oath ceremony will be scheduled".

Still nothing after that.

Depends on the office and how busy it is. Also sometimes if you change name during N-400 this requires judicial ceremony which puts you in a different queue.

10 days since interview is OK. I'd give them 4-6 weeks before starting worrying.

I should have posted earlier. 10 minutes after the post, I got the notice that the oath ceremony was scheduled! :)

Congratulations. How soon is it?

Finally took my oath today and received my naturalization certificate.

Thanks to everyone who shared their experience in this forum..

Naturalization

02/17/24: N-400 submitted online; Biometrics reuse notice received immediately online; "case being actively reviewed" after a couple hours

06/06/24: Interview scheduled for 07/13/2024

07/13/24: Passed Interview. Office later found some DOB mismatch issue in old GC application. So no Oath same day. Returned my GC

07/20/24: Received Oath Ceremony will be scheduled notification online.

My husband submitted his N-400 under the 3 year rule back in January or February, not sure exactly when because we’ve been so busy. His ROC was still pending at the time.

Yesterday we got updates on his ROC, it was approved and his card has been sent out. No movement on his N-400, but today his ROC also updated to say there was a “post decision activity” taken. Does this point to his N-400 possibly being the next to update?
