We finally got our oath scheduled for 8/29. I think contacting the White House actually made things move more quickly after it went cold for about two months following the N-400 interview. Contacting the House of Representatives didn’t really help.

I had an interview on Thursday, and today, the status changed to Oath will be scheduled.

Thanks to everyone who told me to bring my husband, even though nothing mentioned this in the notice.

It was a combo interview (by default, I didn't even have to ask).

The officer was very friendly. First were questions to me and my husband (how we met, our life-love story, household questions: who cooks, who pays bills, where we travel, how we socialize, etc.). After that, I had a reading/writing part and a civics test. All good, and the officer said our case is recommended for approval (handed me the paper).

It’s been two weeks since I got confirmation that my supporting documents from my passport originals were mailed back to me. However, nothing has arrived in the mail and now I wonder if it got lost by USPS

Any updates on receiving the documents back? In older posts I’ve seen it can take a long time for them to mail docs back, several weeks after receiving the passport. But those posts were also made back when the passport issuing process was very delayed, it seems to be improved now.

I passed the interview today! I arrived 30 minutes early, but ended up waiting for about an hour and fifteen minutes before the officer called me in. Although I had a pending I-751, the officer informed me that my wife didn’t need to be there. The interview itself was quick—less than 10 minutes. The officer asked the civics questions rapidly, and I answered just as fast. He then reviewed the questions from the N-400 application and told me I was approved. They’ll send the oath ceremony letter within a week. Honestly, it was the most boring interview ever, but I’m definitely not complaining. By the time I got to the parking lot, I saw that my I-751 had been approved, and my N-400 status showed that the oath ceremony will be scheduled soon.

I had my oath ceremony yesterday.

it has been a horrendous few weeks. My 25 year old son passed away unexpectedly in Copenhagen on July 29th and we flew out there on the 30th, then home to Ireland on August 6th and finally back to Minneapolis 13th/14th for the ceremony yesterday.

I am finished now with the process. Just need to get my passport asap so that I can get back to Ireland soon to spend more time with my daughter. That ceremony will never be a good memory for me in the midst of all this pain.
