I had a freakout today when I realized that I forgot to include a certification with the translation of my marriage certificate, which is in French. I uploaded one today, hopefully the fact that it's a separate document won't be an issue. I wasn't able to edit the previously uploaded translation.

It will not be an issue, and even if you had forgotten to upload it altogether it would have no impact on the timeliness that your interview is scheduled. If you had not uploaded a certificate at all, that might have been an issue. Just bring a copy with you to your interview as well, and again no big deal.

Hi guys, quick question. My Earliest Accepted Filing Date is: 02/17/ 2024

I filed my application at night on 02/19/2024, but all the notices I received are dated 02/20/2024. Both the receipt notice and biometrics reuse are dated 02/20/2024. Does that mean that my filing date for the N400 is 02/20 rather than 02/19 (when I actually filed).

Just curious. Thank you

Excited! But it's all going very quickly.

Wow that was quick! Congrats. What’s the field office?

That’s what I’m thinking. It was around 10pm EST that I filed so I’m thinking it registered it for the next day.

Helena, MT. Probably a bit of a quiet one for immigration.

True - sometimes people take longer to hear back from less busy offices.

did you file under the 90 day early filing rule?

No, I filed under five years rule (it's technically been circa six years).

Lots of anxiety overthinking all my answers so far!

Wow congrats for the quick processing!

I'm a little worried that my field office will take a longer time because it is super busy (San Francisco). We'll see. I've been lucky so far in my immigration journey so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

Filed Feb 18/24. Same deal - went to go renew my GC and it kept prompting me to apply for citizenship. It was surprisingly easy, so here I am too! Timeline in CO = 5 months.

I have questions:

-I asked this in the tax thread - is it necessary to upload tax docs? It didn't ask for any of those.

-Since our biometrics are being re-used, where/when do we get the photo?

-How would one go about requesting for alternate oath?

2011 - 2013 - K-1, AOS, Lifting COnditions

2013 - 2014 - GC approved

2024 - Instead of renewing, why not go the full monty? (They actually made it really easy to do this)

I don't think it's a necessity to upload tax docs, but since you should be able to show you have filed and paid your taxes since you became a resident, it can't hurt. I've read of some people who just bring return transcripts to the interview. Many said the officer didn't ask for them.

1. You can upload the tax transcripts for good measure, a lot of people do and I would recommend it.

2. They will use the same photo you took with the original biometrics. I believe it’s the photo on your current Green Card (although not 100% sure so don’t quote me on this)

3. I would not request an alternate oath. Usually you have to have an emergency or valid reason to reschedule any USCIS event, Oath included. I know a woman who was unable to attend the oath because she was heavily pregnant, and she must have waited around 7-8months to get a rescheduled date.. if you ask to be rescheduled, your case goes to the back of the list again.
