Assuming you live in SF.

True but I don't have a trip planned. I didn't really want to buy plane tickets and cancel them just for the purpose of getting an appointment at the passport agency.

That's fair, I think you get a full refund on the trip if cancelled within 24 hours. Regardless, my worry is that I they will lose my certificate and it will cost $600 to replace.

I decided to try and trust the process, instead of letting my anxiety take over. Hopefully I don't regret it! 😂

The website says 2-3 weeks for expedited, 6-8 weeks for regular processing.

Just FYI,  Not that you need it , but in case you have already paid expedited 60$ fee , you can get passport/certificate whenever you want using below option . Plenty of appointments available.

Book the passport appointment as soon as you get oath ceremony date and time.  You can apply passport same day of oath ceremony as well.  ( if you need passport asap ) .

Someone in the forum mentioned that we can’t get the passport the same day as the Oath ceremony….? They said we need to wait 10 days and frost notify SS office .

Yes,  Flight ticket for next day (booked southwest : mexico).  We paid 255$ total  for both passport book + Passport card. Passport book we got same day .

Card : 3 days later came in mail. They returned the original naturalization certificate also along with passport book same day. I have heard some horror stories of getting in delayed ( naturalization certificate )  in USPS so i wanted to make sure i get it back quickly.

PS:  U have to submit original naturalization certificate along with passport application.

Hi! Could you please explain step by step how to do that ? What city destination in Mexico to choose ? Let’s say a person has an Oath ceremony on 6/20. When does he needs to book a ticket , when make an appointment with a passport agency , and when to cancel the flight ?
Thank you .

Mine was at 1:30pm. I had a red shirt, jeans and a black backpack.

Mine was at 2 so we were probably there at the same time! It was a full room though so I don't remember anyone specifically.

Did any of you guys receive a 10 year greencard in the mail? The officer that approved mine said I will receive one and that I need to bring it to my oath. But I'm a bit skeptical as I've heard they don't always print it if there's already an N-400 approval on file.

It depends. I heard stories of people receiving 10 year GC even after oath and becoming a US citizen 😃
