Did anyone receive an interview from the Santa Ana office? I applied on Feb 20, 2024, but still haven't gotten an interview notice (3-year marriage green card).

Hi, here is a list of Santa Ana filers: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?op6=All&op7=Santa+Ana+CA&op1=6&op2=&op4=1&op5=5%2C10%2C11&cfl=0

One person who filed on Jan 4th got an interview for April 12, and someone else who filed on March 19 got an interview for June 6th

Where's your Field office located? Considering they typically send the interview letters around 1 month in advance, late July or August sounds very possible. Fingers crossed you hear back soon!

I was shocked to realize that US passports don't have a biometrics chip like European passports do!

Where did you get this info from? Of course they do have the biometrics chip. You can even see logo on front cover. Image from wikipedia but I've seen US passports in person many times.

Personal update: I registered to vote, updated my status with SS, and applied for a passport. I couldn't get an appointment for the passport earlier than last Monday, and my application just started showing as received and in progress (DoS has a status tracker). I kind of hate feeling stuck because I have aging parents with medical conditions, so I hope the passport comes quickly. I did pay for the expedited processing and 1-day shipping. I was shocked to realize that US passports don't have a biometrics chip like European passports do!

San Francisco Passport Agency issue same day passports . We went for my wife passport , applied at 8AM and got the passport at 2PM.

Assuming you live in SF.

Do you need proof of an upcoming flight, and how much does it cost?

Yes,  Flight ticket for next day (booked southwest : mexico).  We paid 255$ total  for both passport book + Passport card. Passport book we got same day .

Card : 3 days later came in mail. They returned the original naturalization certificate also along with passport book same day. I have heard some horror stories of getting in delayed ( naturalization certificate )  in USPS so i wanted to make sure i get it back quickly.

PS:  U have to submit original naturalization certificate along with passport application.

It's worth it to get the passport through them just so you can get the certificate back immediately rather than having it mailed weeks later by USPS back to you. I think I will book an international flight and do that.

Book the passport appointment as soon as you get oath ceremony date and time.  You can apply passport same day of oath ceremony as well.  ( if you need passport asap ) .
