Try your Alien number and your naturalization number. My alien number shows a case check back in 2019 and the SSN case check, but the naturalization number only shows the SSN case check.

Ha! I did not know I even had a naturalization number! Will check the certificate - thanks a lot!

In the USCIS portal, I saw that the estimated time to decision went down to 27 days. It probably doesn't mean anything, but I just hope they'll get back to us soon.

Unfortunately no it doesn't mean anything. I watched mine go from 30 days to

Estimated time* until case decision:

Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You will be notified if you need to take any action.

And I still don't have an interview date yet.

Yes, Thank you! I got my certificate! So happy! The ceremony was very formal and quick, like all in NYC, busy-busy. I think, they were having one ceremony every hour that day, LOL

So went to update my new name and citizenship with Secretary of State in Michigan. Wouldn't let me update my Michigan state ID until I go through Social Security first. Went to Social Security Office and they tried to tell me the court document from my oath ceremony changing my legal name was not sufficient court documentation. WTH? Had to explain several times the process as the worker and his supervisor weren't really catching on. May have to go to a different Social Security office in the county of where the oath ceremony took place so they recognize the court document. Brought my Naturalization certificate and the court stamped document, but they still couldn't figure it out. Got to love it! <_<

Those should be sufficient. Looks like the person didn't know what they were talking about! It's signed off on by a judge.

I have found that with government agencies, it is sometimes a good idea to gently prompt them with their own policies. Thankkfully, a lot of the relevant policy manuals are online. For example, the one that deal with this seems to be:

I remember having to deal with SSA a while back, and being turned away because the staff onsite didn't know of an Emergency Message that had just been piblished the week before. So, I found the relevant policy, emailed a regional supervisor (explained the issue, and really didn't complain too much about the overworked onsite staffers who perhaps missed the policy update), and got a phone call that afternoon inviting me to come over and get the changes made.

They should know this stuff, and I shouldn't have had to show it to them, but hey...

I had my naturalization ceremony last Friday, yay! The ceremony was quite nice, it was at the Federal Courthouse in San Antonio and they had a military band. I was told I could bring 1-2 guests, which I did. I believe 119 people were scheduled for the oath and 117 were present. There were 38 countries represented. They played the national anthem but also the Star Trek theme song lol which I thought was awesome. I registered to vote right away. Happy to finally be a citizen! Still feels a bit surreal.

Now to get the passport and update DPS/SSA.

Wow that sounds awesome! There's really huge variations in oath ceremonies. I wish they had a standard minimum "ceremoniousness" even for same-day oaths, lol!

So annoying! I agree with @Rekyrts, I would try to email the director of the office or whoever you can. Back when I first arrived on my CR1 Visa in 2012 I had issues with SS and my husband made me file a complaint online. Within a few hours they called me to resolve the issue.
