There's not a lot of people in our office I guess. Waiting for a minimum of approved N400 I imagine.

Sometimes certain FOs take a while to schedule Oaths because they need to wait until they reach a certain number of participants to schedule. Could you be in that boat possibly?

Did you hear before from someone that Chicago office is slower in scheduling oath ceremonies too ?

My spouse had to find parking so I had to wait for him at the door so I can tell security he was with me. There was a guy who was talking to the people waiting and when he saw me, he asked for my name and recognized me and said I can go in with him. But we can still do the interview and he will just take action on my N-400 once he's received all my records. He then proceeded to do the interview starting with the 6 questions. These are the one I can remember: economic system of the US, how many senators there are, the two political parties, how old citizens have to be to vote, what happened in the constitutional convention. 

 

I  was able to get the 6 questions correct. He asked me to read something and then write something on the tablet. All throughout, he was asking me questions about things like what I do for work, my education, what house we got, how big it is and when we got it. He was partly asking them to get info but also to kill time because the computer is taking a while to respond. He then asked me the Yes-No questions and to confirm my information. After that, he said that things are good and provided me a printout of the decision. He said he had to check that he can't make a decision at the time because of my I-751 but it is nothing to worry about and I should be good as soon as the records come through. I was only there for maybe around 20 minutes which was really nice. 

 

As soon I got into the car, I got an email indicating that there has been an action on one of my cases. I looked at my USCIS account but there were no changes although after less than an hour, I checked again and I-751 was updated saying it's been requested to a different office. Now I'm just waiting for my oath taking ceremony to be scheduled. Will post again when I get my notice. 

 

 

Sharing an update. I had my interview on May 17th but officer had to request my i-751 into the Indianapolis office before they can approve my N-400. My I-751 was requested on the 17th and it got approved on the 21st (New Card Being Produced). I got my oath schedule notification online on May 22nd, scheduled for July 10th. Just waiting to do the oath ceremony now.

I just randomly looked at my USCIS account . My i-751 case still shows but n400 has vanished. Presumably some tech glitch prior to the long weekend. Has this happened to anyone else before?

My wife went into labor at 3am and by the she delivered the baby. I was able to make my oath ceremony scheduled for 8:30am.

Thanks for sharing the link. Seems like in Chicago they have a ceremony 1-2 month after the interview.

I submitted 2/16 and I haven’t had an interview scheduled , I called uscis and I was told that they were still doing a back ground check !! It’s going to be 90 days since my biometrics in 5 days and 104 days since submitting my n400 . At this point I don’t know what is considered the normal processing time for n400!

What number did you call them? just the standard number?
