I have a B2 visa and am planning to visit my American boyfriend (US citizen) soon. My visit is a 2-week visit. My worry is that what do I tell the CBP about my visit? Can I tell them I'm visiting my boyfriend? I have employment obligations in Malaysia and there is no way I could leave my job/Malaysia in this near future. I don't want CBP to think that I'm visiting and using my B-2 visa to marry and reside in the US.

The truth and nothing but the truth.

If they ask you, you HAVE to tell them. It's not optional.

Well in my own experience, I was nervous about them asking who I was visiting too, but the question never came up. The officer only asked me what is my purpose of visit, i said visiting. Where am I staying, i answered the name of the hotel we stayed at.

Also, definitely DEFINITELY get a letter of employment from your workplace's HR department. This helped calm my nerves a lot when passing through CBP. Even though they didnt even ask to see it, I felt prepared and a lot less anxious if it were to come up.

And if they do ask who youre visiting, I'd suggest to just be honest about it.
