The interview took place last Monday 7/30 and as far as we knew, it was approved. As of this morning, a week later, the courier service has still not received the visa from the Embassy.

Last week, the Embassy kept telling us that they couldn't answer any questions about the visa until 5 business had passed. Well, today they STILL wouldn't tell us anything about the status of the visa, why it hadn't been sent to the courier service, and why we hadn't received it yet!

Has this happened to anybody else? Is there any sort of recourse we can take? Does anybody have any advice?

Thanks!

Sorry, should have noted this was at the LONDON embassy.

If you're not getting answers from the consulate, I'd be inclined to call the DOS stateside and ask. Call (202) 663-1225 - press 1, 0. They'll need your London case number to look it up.

Its possible you're on some kind of post interview administrative review.

That is often the most common reason for delays in London at that stage.

Come visit the UK forum here, too - you may find some who can comiserate with you.

MY Fiancee has interview on the same day in Warsaw, Poland right at the interview she recieved DHL Receipt with the tracking number.

Her visa was delivered on Thursday (3 buisness days). I wonder if you guys have any receipts like that.

Also, call the embassy today, it's been 5 business days.

Unfortunately, London does not provide tracking numbers through their courier service (SMS). Anecdotal evidence has shown that there have been a few delays recently in delivery of passports from London, and this may be the case for you. However, as Tracy points out there may be an AP/AR issue here, and calling the DoS is the best course of action right now. If you get no joy there, then try the Embassy as it costs an arm and a leg to call them and they usually know about as much as the DoS do.

Good luck! And yes, come visit us in the UK forum -- we don't bite (much! ). :)

hi guys!

congrats on getting approved!

now, the hard work is over and you just have to wait.

from my experience i can say, somehow between the embassy and the courier, things sit around for a while.

my husbands interview was july 11th. he was approved but they needed additional paperwork to issue the visa. so we mailed in the additional paperwork on the 13th (a friday). on july 30th the courier arrived with his passport and a letter dated the 18th, stating they weren't accepting my paperwork.

so in actuality, is that a word? they must have received our stuff on the 15th and wrote the letter on the 18th, that's pretty fast of them to process something, but then it didn't get to us til another 2 weeks!!!! so what is the passport doing sitting somewhere? who knows!!! this made us crazy waiting nearly 3 weeks to hear we weren't getting our visa yet! agh, all that time i could've been getting the correct paperwork done!

so if you've been approved, it definitely will get to you. it just takes forever to find its way from the embassy to the courier.

anyways, that's just my experience from the last month.

yours should show up soon, don't worry!
