I have other question, can I receive the green card before receiving SSN or the green card wont be issued till I receive the ssn

Sometimes you never get a SSN card and have to apply at SSA in person, as far as I know.

We arrived on Jan.10 my kids recieved their ssn after a week though my husband and I am still waiting for our ssn, sometimes green card issued before ssn.You can visit your local ssn office to inquire the delay! And you can also track your green card status on uscis website on check case status by putting ur receipt number of green card fee!

Dears,

Three weeks passed since I entered USA as an immigrant, but unfortunately till now I haven’t receive my social security number.

Can any valuable member  advice or share his personal experience about the time it takes till I recieve my social security number

My spouse entered the US on December 13, 2023 and never received the SS card although we said "YES" to the corresponding questions in the DS-260. She has an appointment at the Austin, TX SSA office later this month so that we can apply in person. Austin doesn't allow walk-ins for new applications and thus the need for a long wait for our appointment.

Good luck with your GC and SS!

We have recieved our green cards after 4 weeks of our entry.Kds recieved their ssn after one week of entry, still no ssn for me and my husband. We entered USA Jan.10 after waiting 4 weeks on Feb 9th We resubmit our application for ssn by walk in and we were told if we don't receive in two weeks and then come to office, we visited after two weeks they said everything is clear inquiry is done but no number issued they don't know why! and made us resubmit the application and wait for another two weeks.very annoying process we can't work without ssn :(

I am sorry to hear about the delays in your SSN. Hope you get it this time!

My spouse hasn't yet received her GC although it is 77 days since her entry. We submitted her SS application on Feb. 23 and are still waiting for the number/card in the mail.

You can track the GC with your fee receipt.Did you check if it is mailed or not?

Thanks, I did. It remains stuck at "Immigrant visa fee payment received". I'll just have to be patient.

I arrived almost four weeks ago and I still haven’t received my SSN or green card. I think it’s probably something to do with luck and location.

Wondering if you recieved your ssn by now? I am also waiting for my ssn arrived usa on Jan.10

Ok good!I am still waiting for my ssn :(

When did you enter the US? If it was more than 4-6 weeks ago then you should go to the nearest SSA office with your passport and IV and check with them.
