I'm glad they dialed back I-751, the original proposed fee was so steep for part of the process that is simply meant to grab more money out of us.

This 100% - the proposed fee for the I-751 was around double the current rate if I remember correctly? I remember reading it all a year ago and just hoping that it won't come into effect until after we have to file for ROC. It already is a money grab after all.

actually this is the one service that provides to the person(s) getting the benefits

we know what office ,  we are informed of the progress (as slow as it is to get) at each step

Bene meets the officer who interviews and decides

it really is up to a well prepared petition by the USC and the bene to do  a good interview

we are given reasons for  denial or a chance to change a NOIR /NOID ourcome

this is our cholce to apply and benefit / no one is forced into this

the fees are not in tax system so do not benefit outsiders

we pay our own fees for this service

and there is an budget for us to see along with monthly embassy statements ,  reviews,  stats,  charts

its not like school taxes where we all pay even if not children in school /I pay for the house here and 2 other properties  with  no benefit for example/ to me that's what a money grab is

This is only regrading USCIS. It doesn’t affect the Department of state as that’s a different agency.

I am aware of that thank you. USCIS April adjustment of status increase now basically means from a financial perspective consulate processing route requires much lower financial cost.

That until DoS increases the immigrant fee schedule (DoS increased non-immigrant fee schedule last year in 2023)

Very true. It is now just too costly in my opinion and not worth it if you have an option of consular.

I’m guessing it won’t any time soon as finding is not such a concern for DOS compared to USCIS. USCIS basically relies on fees to operate while DOS gets direct government funding so it’s not on their forefront of internal changes.

So fee info will no longer be included in the instructions , everyone must refer to the fee schedule G-1055 and fee calculator.

Card payments rejected will not be re submitted ( unless NSF) .

Electronic payments are NOT subject to charge backs …this clarifies why so many banks/co reject payments without advance notice from account holder.

They got rid of $ 30 returned payment fee
