hi!

my fiance hasn't filed yet an income tax for 2006. all he has is 2005. he said he cannot file it yet before my interiview but he filed for an extension since the deadline will still be october 15, 2007. that means i will only have his 2005 income tax.

i am worried about this. will 2005 income tax qualified for the affidavit of support? i read again the requirements of the affidavit of support, it says there "last income tax filed for self-employed". my fiance is self-employed. does the "last income tax filed" means the last one filed regardless of what year this was filed and not necessarily the 2006?

anybody know about this? i'm really worried :crying:

I would provide evidence of the extension filing, and provide what has been filed.

Get transcripts from IRS, the simple ones are easy to obtain, and are free.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

At USEM during the interview, they would prefer the latest ITR and/or W-2. Since he is self-employed and hasn't filed for his ITR-2006, maybe he could get his latest "Statement of Profits and Loss" in lieu of the W-2 (so they will have an idea how much he is earning and that he can support you). He may need an accountant to do that for him. Then also bring his 2005 ITR for your interview. Good Luck!

i will bring the evidence of the extension filing his 2005 and 2004 income tax. but i'm not sure if he can provide me an income statement, the profit and loss statement. i hope the evidence of the extension will be enough.

thanks for the replies..
