I will add that it is very common, for the visa applicant to either know well, or be pretty sure, why the visa was denied.  It is less common for them to be open and honest with the petitioner about it.  I don't know what's true in this case, but I suggest a "Come to Jesus" talk right away.

What is said here is so important as when u get the notice , u have 30 days to respond (can't remember if that is 30 calendar or business days)   and my NOID said 'from date of this mailing which meant a week had already gone by

and if u could know what the issues were now,  u could start getting facts together

bene knows what CO asked

bene knows how the CO acted to each question

There will be a "respond by" date on the notice.  Usually, it's more than 30 days, but it IS a firm date, not a number of days.

There’s absolutely nothing strange or interesting about that. Contrary to the myth out there, many marriages happen for a reason other than love.

For example there are many people who wouldn’t marry their spouse if they are one eyed, had no legs, don’t have a college degree, have poor credit, are HIV+, etc. etc. Another reason many people get married, particularly in poorer economies is economic reasons. People all over the world from antiquity have married for economic reasons.

Many of my Indian classmates had arranged marriages to partners they didn’t know until a week or two before the marriage. Very obviously love was not the main factor and yet most of those marriages survived and thrived to the end.

Westerners may find that strange or claim to find it strange, however there’s nothing strange about it and to me it’s just hypocrisy or lack of understanding how things work in this world.

Economic opportunity happens to be one reason and it’s as legitimate as the next. It’s nobody’s business except the two people involved if the precipitating reason for the “love” is economic opportunity.

My $0.02.

And my $0.02:  I still find it strange.  If my spouse had not been able to come here, I would have gone to NZ.  I personally wouldn't want to remain in a relationship where "economic advantage" was the primary focus, and my partner didn't want to continue if he couldn't come to the US.

I also find arranged marriages/cousin marriages strange.  There are certainly ways to better one's situation in life, besides marriage.

Whether anybody finds it strange or not isn't relevant in this context.  If a Consular Officer thinks the marriage was entered into to gain an immigration benefit, that's grounds to deny the visa.  However, I'm not speculating on the reason for the denial.  I DO expect the foreign spouse has at least a really good idea why the visa was denied.  They were there.  They know the questions and answers, and they know whether any information given was false.  Consular Officers are trained to make these decisions, based on the totality of circumstances.  Sometimes they know things the applicant doesn't know they know.  Sometimes they get it wrong too.  Seldom, is it an actual mystery to the applicant though.

Good Morning..  just following up on this post. Most of the VJ ( veterans know their stuff ) But just based on the small amount of knowledge I know ( and that is small )

The revoke had to do with some kind of documents.. something did not add up with what was present with the documents and most or less what was asked of him.

It could have been a simple question.. and it drew a red flag, or why else it would have to go back to the uscis?  if it was a quick fix, it would have stayed at the embassy.

The one thing the US is not short of is Immigration Lawyers, at least one has been mentioned.

www.aila.org as well
