I was sitting in a chair this morning and when I got up my leg was asleep. I put my weight on it before I realized and 'pop'. I swear I saw stars and almost dropped my cup. I had to sit back down on the floor a minute before I could rise back up.

Now my ankle feels kind of warm and tingley and actually I am feeling a tingling sensation in my fingers. I can't say I'm in any pain just feeling kind of weird. This was my right ankle.

What the hell have I done?

You might have pulled something in your ankle, most likely a nerve that´s twitching and making you feel tingly, if the ankle hurts, put some ice on it, or do a little massage on the ankle, it should heal on it´s own.

rebecca... not sure why your fingers are tingling... i am assuming that it is the fingers on the same side of the body which ankle you popped... maybe like someone else has posted, and just a small nerve issue...

i have had tons of sprained ankles... the best thing to do is to prop the ankle above heart level to decrease swelling... to alternate between hot and cool compresses... that is what the doc's have always told me to do. hope ya feeling better in a jif!

*hugs*

lynne

ps: i wanna be there to see ya bop joel over the head w/ the canadian whiskey bottle... hehe

Yeah, I'm thinking a nerve too. It's feeling better but I called in and told my workmate that I'm going to take my time coming in this morning.

I'm normally a pretty tough broad and don't complain. This was just weird because when it happened I really thought I was passing out.

Ah well...any excuse for canadian whisky!

how is the swelling? if there is considerable amount of pain... better safe than sorry i always say rebecca...

maybe a quick visit to the doctor would be better... surely you did not tear a ligament?

I get this kind of thing all the time; for me it's tendons and muscle spasm mostly but some of them affect nerves and those ones dang hurt!

I use muscle relaxants for the really bad ones and stretching/light movement. You can also experiment with heat/cold and see if anything makes it feel better.

Don't forget the Bailey's.
