Dear All,

One question : after the visa approval ( CR1) can you enter the US anywhere ? My US adress declared during the Visa process is near New York, but in fact my wife found a job in Houston, so I want to enter the first time there.

Do you think it's a problem?

What is the procedure to change the adress regarding uscis ?

Thanks for your help.

Shouldn't be a problem. You can enter the US anywhere. You (or your wife) should call USCIS and update your address in Houston once you get one. Just for the sake of future interview USCIS, questions etc. You may want to ask your wife to fill out a change of address card with the US postal service for the both of you. I filled K-1. So I'm not sure of the CR1 details, but I'm think you may also need to fill out 2 forms (1) an AR-11 (this shows that the non US citizen has moved to a new address) and (2) an I-865 (this shows that your US sponsor has moved). Both forms are free and teh AR-11 can be completed online at USCIS.

Can enter the country at any POE.

After you arrive in the USA, you will file AR-11, and the US Citizen filed I-865 to report the change of address.

AR-11

I-865

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Dear All,

I will now travel soon as my visa was approved this week

Regarding the adress modification : firstly I will have a temporary housing before to find something for a long period.

Should I complete the AR11 form each time ( one for the temporay housing and a second one when I arrive in the final place) ?

Or can I wait two or three months in order to find the final place and just fill the AR11 one time?

Thanks for your comments.

You should do the AR-11 for each different address within 10 days of moving. You can do it online, and it's free and painless! :)

EDIT - Oh, and be sure your wife does the I-865 each time her address changes too. I don't think that one can be done online, but it's also free.

Hi,

One last question.

As I already know my new adress, should I modify it now or only when I will enter in the US?

I will travel know in 10 days and hope to not have any problems at the POE.

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Manu
