We received DQ notification January 9 from NVC.  Said expect communication from Manila Embassy for visa appointment.

I have read other comments from last year saying there is no back log and it usually takes about 2-3 weeks.

Anyone have current experience or info for this?

The current wait time is unknown. They seem to have stopped sending out interview letters last June. I have not seen any credible evidence here, on Reddit, or on Facebook that they're sending out any interview letters. There's an entire Facebook group dedicated to this. People have messaged their political leaders and filed multiple expedite requests with absolutely no success.

For reference, our DQ date was August 2023. Still waiting.

It seems like Manila just randomly decided to stop doing its job one day. It's unclear when this will be resolved.

One thing I've learned in this process is that everyone's is different.  We married in 2022...our daughter was year old December 21, 2023...and she is an American citizen already.

We are awaiting CR1. We know people who finished last year.

I know there are others who have had interview.

This is how the DQ process works:  The interview is scheduled by NVC.  I hope you get the interview letter soon.

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interviews for cases at the front of the line.

5. NVC schedules your  interview when your case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

6. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

7. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Not sure who you know, but there are plenty of Facebook groups and threads on this forum that say otherwise.

At the beginning of 2023 there was no backlog.  People who DQ up to the third week of January 2023 got so called auto expedites and could self schedule by the last week of January 2023.  1 week.  By the end of 2023 it appears they have not done any new scheduling of CR1/IR1 CR2/IR2 cases since the 'mass expedite the end of June which encompassed everyone DQ up to the second week of May.   Those who missed the cutoff date in May are still waiting and no movement for cases DQ since the second week of May.  The current backlog is fairly clearly defined as 7 months and increasing daily.

What USEM is up to is anyone's guess.  It seems something would have to give 'soon'.

  • 5 weeks later...

You are in for a long wait....the CR-1 for my wife was DQ'd last June of 2023 and we are still waiting for an interview notice. I was not included on the last mass expedite and many like me have been stuck since June 2023....in any case, a ton of people are in front of you. Between June 2023 (some from May and April) all the way to January 2024, the line has not moved.

There's a another thread on this website. People DQed in august of last year are getting their interviews finally. If you DQed in January expect a response towards the end of the year if not early next year. They're dragging their feet on the CR1 interviews.
