Hi everyone,

I need help with my mother's Travel Document (I -131). She applied for it 2 years ago and its expiring in Oct 2007. My younger siblings are still in Pakistan awaiting visa and my mother doesn't want to live here without them. She wants to come here just to re-apply for the Travel Document (I-131) for the next 2 yrs.

-What will be the procedure?

-How long she has to stay here in the US to re-apply for it?

-Does she have to wait till she receives the document in hand before going back or it can be mailed to her on a later date?

Also, what kind of problems she should expect coming back on the Travel Document, if she comes before the expiration date.

Thanks so much in advance.

1. the same as for the first one. Your mother files out I-131

2. well - it doesn't matter as long as she is in the USA at the time USCIS receives it

3. No, it can be sent to the USA embassy in home country, and she can pick it up there

Friendly remainder: read about "abandoning residency".

I was thinking the same.....

Too late now anyway.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
