N 400 process taking over 20 months

Hi, I filed my N400 in May 2022 in one state and then later moved to another. It's been over a year that the status is "case is taking longer than normal." Any suggestion on what I should do?

I have, and the office has already changed. I have sent queries but they have not responded.

If outside processing times, Writ of Mandamus is your friend.

It says the case is being actively reviewed

Yes, it is outside of processing time. Do I need a lawyer?

Actively Reviewed, unfortunately means the opposite most of the times.

 

You can file WoM yourself if you wish, but it's not the easiest thing to pull off.

 

Here's instruction:

The filing fees are just over $400. If you file with a lawyer this means paying about $5000 in legal fees on top.
