Dear Memebers i am new to this forum and i hope will get some information from u guys, it has been 4 months since my interview for K1 visa, which i know that i am put on administrative processing so how long will this take and what will be my next setep if it suppose to take more time? My Question is what does the 4 digit pink sticker means one they sticked on my passport and the other given to me along with a white AND BLUE--(DOCUMENT WHICH I SENT) paperS saying IF U DO NOT HEAR FROM US IN 45 DAYS THEN CONTACT US, does that mean i am approved for visa?...

Thank You

Have you contacted them as your post says? If not, why not? Seems that would be the first step in answering your questions about time to process the AR.

Yes i did by email to the embassy they say pending.

S.A. welcome to the land of AP and sorry to hear that your in this processing now. I will tell you that 4 months is not the average/shortest time of AP coming from Islamabad. The average time is 5-6 months or longer depending on your name, schooling, job, and how the embassy looks at your relationship with the USC(any red flags). All you can do is wait out the processing and hopefully it will not take too much longer. Kjan I saw has visited your profile and her husband just got his visa out of Afghanistan as well. They endured at least 6 months of AP. A pink ticket is usually issued with numbers on it and it is only a half piece and the embassy will send the other half with the same numbers with the visa and it is to be matched at the time of delivery to make sure they are issuing to the proper individual. (I am not sure if you have this pink token or something else to be honest). Secondly, my husband got the blue and white 221(g) letters with the same information that his case needed AP and to contact them after 45 days. This is a joke, they mean 45 business days and that has never held true for Islamabad. Like I said the average time is 5-6 months or longer. My husband was in AP for 5 months and then he got a letter from the embassy to return with his passport. They took his letter and passport and told him his visa would be delivered by xxxx courier in a short time and it was in a few days. Pray for patience during this processing and you are always welcome to come to the Islamabad forums and talk with others going through their journies as well.

This is a very good sign. The embassy will either call, send letter or email asking your fiancee to submit their passport for visa. Congratulations !! :luv:

Sounds like they are ready to proceed with the processing of his visa. Hopefully, the visa will be in hand shortly and the call usually is to either submit the passport in person on xxx days of the week or to submit it via a courier. Good luck.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. I was just wondering what call letter meant? And also my fiance passport is with the islamabad embassy. He left it with them at the time of his interview on April 13, 2009. So i am in a debate on whether the call might be a good or bad one. Because I think since they already have his passport, shouldn't the embassy just send the visa stamped passport to the selected mail courier?? Also if anyone knows how long they will actually call me. They sent an email yesterday stating that my fiance would get a call or call letter from their office very soon. PLEASE I NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET. I THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR REPLYING SO QUICKLY. I HOPE MY PRAYERS AND EVERYONE ELSES COMES TRUE. GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND THANKS AGAIN FOR THE HELP.

Well since your fiance left the passport with ISL at the time of the interview... then I'm presuming the call letter or the call would be from the U.S. embassy in Kabul asking him to pick up his passport with the visa stamped insha'Allah. As for when the call would be, I'm not sure and from the posts I have read, ISL can be unpredictable on the time frames they give lol

How long has your fiance been under AP?

My fiance has been in AP for 3 months and 2 weeks now. Why would he receive a call letter from kabul though? I thought the visa was issued in ISL since his passport is there??? Also please tell me what a call letter is?? And yes I hope and Pray that they will issue his visa soon, INSHALLAH.....OKay thank you so much for your help. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

Everything is done through the embassies, even though he had his interview at Islamabad, he still picks up whatever that is sent for him from the embassy in Islamabad. How did he receive the 3.5 packet or the interview letter? The embassy in Islamabad sends it to the embassy in Kabul for your fiance to pick it up. Hence, the passport will probably be done through the same process; however, I'm not sure if he has to go back to Islamabad to pick it up since he submitted it at the day of the interview. I know that after the interview, usually they give you a letter stating your under AP and that the embassy of Kabul will notify you when to submit the passport for a visa issuance.
