Hi everyone!

I have my interview for citizenship next month. I am applying based on being married to a US citizen. Does my husband need to go to the interview? The letter doesn’t say either way.
Thanks so much!

Your timeline doesn't say if your I-751 has been approved. In that case go with spouse in case it becomes a combo interview. Good luck.

If your I-751 has already been approved, no your husband doesn't need to go. But if it's still pending then you should bring him so they can do the dual interview with him if they need to.

Good luck for your interview! Mine was a combo interview and I received a letter directly from my local office maybe a week before my interview specifying to bring my spouse - your local office may or may not send a similar letter. Bring them anyway if possible, I confirmed with the officer who called my number if I should bring them in and he said yes. They weren't asked any questions but others' experiences may differ.

We had a combo interview, too.  I was notified to attend 2 days prior to the interview date.  I answered a couple questions during the I-751 part of the interview.  The officer wanted to see marriage evidence from time of I-751 filing to interview date.  Luckily, I went well prepared.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Bring hubby, too.

When the interviewer starts asking you the civics questions, he should jump from his seat and yell "I KNOW THE ANSWER - it is <...>", "I KNOW THAT, TOO - it is <...>". To liven up things, a bit.

Thank you so much everyone! We’re excited to hopefully be completely done with this process! 🤞🏼 appreciate the input!

Bring him, just in case- if you have a pending I-751 , it might be a combo interview. That was the case with me. All the best for the interview- and don't worry, it is a piece of cake😉👍
