I would assume a prospective US citizen would want to learn a great deal about their country.

I know I do.

I did but let’s move on to helping the OP.

You derailed the thread.  I am re-directing it back to the test and why one must know the answers to all 100 questions rather than what others were asked..

I need to know all 100 but 10 random will be asked. I need to get to 6 correct. Do they have a software they use to ask those random questions?

My wife thinks each of the questions popped up on the officer's computer screen before he asked them....so, it seems he did have something which randomly selected them.

Maximum.  They can stop at 6.

I will be asked only 10 questions and I must get 6 correct right? Or do they keep going until I get 6 right?

If you answer the first 6 correctly, they can stop.

Total of 10 questions.

After that, if you didn't get 6 right, you failed the test and have to retake it another time.

Imagine purposely answering the first 4 wrong and then be confident about it to get next 6 right. That would be epic.

Legally you can do it, but practically why would you want to put yourself in that position? IO may think you barely passed. May not give you decision on the spot, and you'd have to wait for days, weeks or months. On the contrary, answering first 6 questions correctly may result in instant approval and same day ceremony.

True. Not worth it. Especially when you paid and don’t want delays.

Personal opinion: I think lawyer should be allowed to assist their client answer these questions.

Why? the lawyer is not applying for citizenship.

Its solely up to the petitioner

I am brain storming things out. Government would benefit from the fees we paid. Are we going to use this knowing in a real life? Unless you are a history teacher.

U are going to be allowed to vote among many other benefits

Knowing who your Congressmen and President and what the 3 branches are  / u need to know this to vote with knowledge

like what office is a person running for?   what are the job duties of that office?  what party does he/she represent and what are the beliefs?

u need to know more than  just these 100 questions

and all us USC's took American history and studied the government in school and college/  at that time we knew these answers as we had too and back in my day I had to list Presidents in order with the dates in office /so to me these questions look rather easy.

Yeah ,  u study 100 and they ask 10 and u only need to know 6

asking all 100 would be more fair
