Change status to H1b, J-1s who subsequently enter with an F-1

If anyone last entered United States with F-1 visa, however he/she was previously entered U.S. on J-1 and still did not fulfill the 2 years home residency can file for a change of status to H1b? I have learned J-1s cannot change status to H1b. However, J-1s who subsequently enter with an F-1, while they cannot leave the U.S. and reenter with an H1b, they CAN change status to H1b. Is there anyone in here went through this experience and process? Will he/she face any trouble in future to adjusting the status/receive a green card after fulfilling the 2 years home residency or receiving a waiver from DOS after receiving a change status to H1b.

If you are subject to the two-year home-country physical presence requirement, you must return to your home country for a cumulative total period of at least two years before you can do any of the following:

  1. Change status while in the United States to the nonimmigrant categories of temporary worker (H) or intracompany transferee (L);
  2. Adjust status while in the United States to immigrant visa/lawful permanent resident status (LPR);
  3. Receive an immigrant visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate; or
  4. Receive a temporary worker (H), intracompany transferee (L), or fiancé (K) visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
