Very worried about my case- forgot a translation

Hi All, 

We submitted our AOS package to USCIS a few days ago, and through the mail carrier we tracked it and saw it has arrived. We do not have a receipt number yet because we didn’t get the notification through the mail yet from USCIS.
However, I realized we forgot one document- a translation of my husbands birth certificate. He is from Mexico so it is in Spanish. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we should do? Can we submit just the translation through mail and hope they put them together or is there something else I should do. I feel so dumb because we did it without a lawyer and I checked it so meticulously but somehow forgot something.

From what status is the Adjustment? (I will move this topic to the correct forum)?  You can try to send the translation AND a copy of the BC, but I would not count on them getting to your file.  I think it is more likely that you will get an RFE.

First of all, since you don't have a case reference, their is nothing to be done today.  I would wait for the RFE as the likely hood of getting something matched up to your file is not assured.

Do you think this is something that could cause rejection or it could be fine as long as I submit one if we get an RFE.

most probable an RFE if that is only issue. Relax you got a long journey ahead.

No.  You would have had to not included much much more for them to reject

Nothing to do as of now, other than go on with your life and worry about it when you do get a case number. 

 

You can send it, hoping that it gets attached to your case. Worse case scenario if it does not, you will end up with an RFE. 

 

I strongly urge you to work on stress- coping skills. This is your first rodeo with immigration, likely not the last one, so learning how to deal with the "Oooops, I messed up, now what?!" is part of your most immediate learning
