E-2 employee to green card

E-2 Investors can not directly self-sponsor a green card for themselves but only obtain one via NIW and similar means.

 

What is the situation for E-2 Employees? 

Can a company/employer from a treaty country sponsor an employment-based green card for their employee who holds an E-2 Employee Visa (that they obtained via that company)?

Yes, they're eligible to be sponsored for a green card if the company agrees and the person meets the criteria for it.

Yes they can, I knew a couple of people at work who went through E2 -> GC. They're all sponsored by employer.

e-2 is a non immigrant visa

 

in order to adjust status and get green card, you would need to find an employer who is willing to file green card via  in Eb-1/2/3/4/5 categories
