I-864 Questions

I have a couple of questions about the Affidavit of Support.
1- Has anyone filed an I-864EZ?  The instructions say that this can be used if there is only one beneficiary on the I-130 and if the petitioner is using his/her income alone.  Is there any reason why the longer I-864 would be a better choice?
2- I will be using my own income to demonstrate that I qualify (no joint sponsor).  Does my spouse still need to fill out an I-864A?

If you and your apouse file taxes joint then yes, he needs to fill out I864A as a household member, not as a joint sponsor.

If the spouse is not working but filling the taxes jointly, any guidance on what to add tax details in section 2.a, 2.b, 2.c in 864a form that requests total income.
