Hi Guys,

Just a quick question, does anyone know the current wait time to get my 14 year daughter to the US?

I filed her petition in September and was updated today that uscis are reviewing her form. Btw, I recently make some changes to her paperwork n upgraded it from lpr to US citizen.

Thanks in advance for the help

If you’re a USC then she’s now an immediate relative, so no more waiting for her date to become current on the VB. So about 18 months as a rough guide, but it will depend on the consulate as some have lengthy queues for interview dates, whilst others don’t have a wait at all.

The upgrade will greatly reduced her wait time.

Please how did you upgrade her paperwork from child of LPR to US citizen ? My husband has been trying to do so but hasn’t been successful yet. Thank you.

He needs to contact NVC with proof of his new citizenship - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/immigrant-visa-for-spouse.html#:~:text=If you filed a petition,National Visa Center (NVC).

Then ideally when the petition is approved and it moves to NVC it should be classified correctly and the visa should be for an immediate relative.  If for some reason that does not happen, then contact NVC and have them make the correction to IR2.

Good Luck!
