Japanese car company developing a car with built-in sensors to detect drunkenness of driver, locking ignition if needed.

I hope the don't send these to Russia otherwise there will be a lot of cars stationary for a while.

On a serious note this is a great idea and should be compulsory in all cars.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

People once thought that about seat belts and collapsible steering wheels.

Such a device is more important that any other safety measures as it prevents some drunk idiot killing someone else or a number of people. Over 40% of roads deaths are still alcohol related. As is the usual case, the drunk driver survives while the other innocent victims pay with their life.

I really hope this eventually becomes compulsory. I cannot even count the times I've driven behind OBVIOUSLY drunk drivers and it is terrifying!
