Hey all, I know you are the only ones that actually give a rodent's butt, so here goes my rant. Family just doesn't get it, and other people just give me lame lines (alongside the "why don't you stay here" one which I hate the most) so we've stopped talking to pretty much everyone around us :crying: .

I had already planned my "escape route" and was happy.... :hehe:

Plan a : If interview 1st half of sept, quit Aug 31, move last week of sept.

Plan b : If interview 2nd half of sept, quit sept 15, move last week of sept.

NOW, with the utterly ambivalent and sh!tty responses from MTL, I am so upset it's not even funny - move could happen in october (and there goes 800 CAD more in another month's rent). Can't plan sh!t, can't look for appartment, can't look for job.... argggghhhh. Feel trapped, encased, and more depressed than usual. I am still hoping for a september interview (I am on MTL system since end of March, so it should be); but the pressure mounts. Dr. Bren is done with graduate school, bored sh!tless of being here without doing squat (student visa holder, so work is out of the ???) and without being able to just grab a job in the US since he would have to leave without yours truly and he just won't do that (another reason to love the man even more). Add to it the fact that I hate my college job (they hired me to do one thing and I ended up doing sh!t I don't know sh!t about and don't want to do). ARGH. I tell you this is driving me crazy. REason why I haven't posted much. I am upset, sad, angry, and don't like being so negative.

This is my sunday vent... brought to you courtesy of MTL.

Len, insane and :angry::angry::angry:

Ugh, sorry to hear about the frustration. Believe me, we all here understand! Vent away. And when you're done, vent some more! People who aren't/haven't been through this just don't understand how our lives hang in the balance while waiting for approvals, packets, interviews, etc.

Hey len, sorry to hear about it all. We all pretty much know how that feels. The waiting for stuff to happen during your process can be excruciatingly boring, pointless, depressing (insert any negative adjective here!) It is almost impossible to make plans! I also know what it feels like to feel like you just can't be positive at all. A lot of time in the last couple months I have felt that way.

Butttt.SMILE! I know it's hard but...try to smile. Things will work. You've got a great guy and patience will be a virtue.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Don't worry... we understand :) That silver lining is going to be more visible soon... ! In the meantime, you *can* look for the jobs and apartments and make mental notes on where you'd like to apply for those as soon as you have the go-ahead.

Honestly, with all the hassle I'm thinking Canadians are better off coming in as they usually do as tourists, marrying on day 61 and filing for AOS. 5-7 months for a rubber-stamp interview is just ridiculous.

What would we do without VJ eh? I love the empathy here, from people who know EXACTLY what we're going through and how frustrating this process. One day, we'll all be happily in the US, and expending empathy on newbies. I'm so sorry for all of you guys going through Montreal and having a heck of a time getting a date for your interview!

We do understand and care about you! Hope venting here helps. We're here for you!
