Can an American who only lived in the US for 2-3 years give citizenship to husband and kids?

Hello! I was born in Florida 32 years ago. I lived there around 2-3 years then my family moved to another country. Since then, I’ve been back only for vacation. I now live in Canada and have a husband and 2 kinds. We want to relocate to the US. Is it possible for them to get citizenship through me? My worry is that because I lived there for so little, I won’t be able to.

thanks for all your help!!

You'll likely have to petition children via individual I-130s (just like your husband) and then once they come on immigrant visas they'll become USC. Husband will get the LPR status.

Thanks for the comment! Do you know the process time for all of that?

18 months to 2 years

Yes, you will need to file separate I130’s for your spouse and children.  You can allow each petition to catch up at the NVC stage so they can have interviews together.  As to citizenship after their getting immigration visas, I am not sure about that.  You do not meet the 5 year physical presence requirement to immediately pass on citizenship to your children through CRBA, but I think they can get it after coming in IVs, others may know more.  As to your spouse, they will need to file their own N400 three or five years after they enter the U.S. with their spousal visa.

Good Luck!

there's a path for both ur kids and ur husband. you cant "give" citizenship to your husband. all you can do is file petition to him, if it's approved with additional process, he can get his greencard....along the way, years later, he can file his citizenship by himself to USCIS. to get a GC through consular processing roughly between 1,5-2 years. ( not citizenship)

Bit of an assumption but Sponsorship for your Husband maybe an issue, do you have anyone to be a Joint Sponsor.

Assuming you are in Canada they are quite keen that you show Domicile in the US.

You will also have to prove domicile in the US later on, so chances are you have to come earlier than your family and get a lease, open a bank account, get a drivers license, etc. All thing that prove that you are living in the US. Also, you either come before or together with your husband and kids (they can't come before you)
