I don't know if there is one exact way of completing this answer on the I-129F. I've read of many different petitioners having approached it many different ways and having success.

Our answer to question 18 wasn't anything long in length. It was a simple paragraph of 4 to 5 sentences stating the facts that I met my fiancee while I was working in Ho Chi Minh City. I wrote "See Attached Sheet" on the lines of the I-129F form and then attached a separate sheet, indicated the question being answered, and put my statement there. We had no trouble or RFE through the Nebraska Service Center.

Hope this helps! Good luck on the journey.

Write something that is not too short, but not too long. Be specific in dates and purposes of going there. Send pictures, and if you have a passport that is stamped with dates of entry, send copies of the entire passport. Any other evidence comes later at the interview.

I did a supplemental and explained in detail how we met. I have read other posts that only wrote a sentense and were also successful. I am one for documentation in detail :D Good luck

I typed on word, put Question 19, I-129F supplemental info in the heading, and then wrote a few paragraphs describing our relationship, how and when we met, etc. It took a little over half of the page. Then you date, print and sign, and put in the back of I-129F when you send it.

I think the most solid petitions have their response to question 18 briefly mention the circumstances of your first meeting, but focus on the meetings in the past two years. Even better if you can tie in the evidence that you present into your description.

I wrote on the application for the that question "we met on the Internet in (date) and I met him in person in (date)...then I attached a separate page of a paragraph with more detail....about how we met on the Internet and felt we were right for each each other, so we decided to meet in person...so I went there, and we knew we wanted to get married. It was about half a page. Don't worry....it should be fine.

I wrote one line - I flew to Colombia and met her from Feb 3, 2005 to Feb 23rd. (I attached a copy of my itinerary and 2 pictures of us together.) But I do agree that copies of passport with the stamps and boarding passes are good to send (I didn't send them.) Also, write in as much as you feel comfortable with - I only described our actual meeting nothing about meeting on the internet for 4 months prior to in-person meeting! Good Luck

Imagine that you are telling a family member or a freind the details and circumstances of how you met. How would you do that? Include dates and names of places etc.

From another post....

Documentary evidence is submitted in support of answers on the I-129F. Whilst some have only put simple one line answer to Q.18 and its been accepted, another may not. Use the question to describe in your own words how you met....at least in some detail. The evidence one then submits supports this statement. Remember you are trying to create a picture in the minds eye of an adjudicator that doesn't know you or your fiance from a bar of soap. Give him something to read by way of some detail whilst using the evidence you submitted to support what you are describing. Create the whole picture. A little more detail in ones statement perhaps is all that an adjudictor may require to complete that picture. Use the question to your advantage.

There has been RFE's of late for this exact thing. The RFE's stated

CIRCUMSTANCE OF MEETING: Submit further info regarding the circumstances under which the petitioner and beneficiary met to establish the relationship.

Circumstance of Meeting: Submit information regarding the circumstances under which you and the beneficiary met to establish the relationship (elaborate on statements).

All the best to you

If it helps here is a copy of our attached continuation sheet to give you an idea of where to begin.

K1 Fiancée Visa Petition of

Robert X. Xxxx, on behalf of

Amanda X. Xxxxx

Being duly sworn, I, Robert X. Xxxxx, declare:

I am the petitioner named above. I am a citizen of the United States, having been born in Xxxxxx, XX on (date). I live at (U.S. address)

It is my intention to marry Amanda X. Xxxxx within ninety days of her arrival in the United States on a K-1 fiancé visa. In fact, we are planning the wedding for (date), so I hope this petition will be approved in time for us to keep these wedding plans.

I met Amanda through a friend that I work with at XXXX in Limerick, Ireland in July, 2004. We instantly hit it off and began to see each other frequently. It was evident that this was going to be a long term relationship and we are very happy together and can’t wait to get married.

I proposed to Amanda this year on (date) while at dinner and she happily accepted. I met Amanda’s parents last year and have spent many hours at their house. Both her mother and father have given us their blessing to get married and for Amanda to live her life with me in America. Amanda’s parents and I get along great and we have been to numerous hurling matches and dinners together.

As evidence that my fiancée, Amanda and I have met each other in person and are getting married because we love each other, I am attaching several snapshots taken of us together in Ireland this year. Some of the photos are with her family at their house in Clare, as well as some others of the two of us around the Limerick area.

It didn't even occur to me to get into any kind of emotional detail.

I siad we met online on this date, met in person on this date, and dated exclusively since then. Then I listed the dates of visists I was submitting evidence for.

It hasn't been mailed yet I don't think. I can always email him another letter to stick in, if he hasn't sent it off today as planned...

eh, it may be fine. I am not sure what else I would say anyhow!

04/13/06 - I-129F mailed

04/18/06 - NOA1

08/30/06 - NOA2

09/26/06 - received at NVC

09/27/06 - forwarded to consulate

20/11/06 - visa in my pocket!

14/01/07 - POE

13/04/07 - marriage

27/04/07 docs sent in for AOS, EAD, AP

26/06/07 - biometrics appointment

02/17/07 - AP and EAD arrive

03/03/08 - Infopass - where the heck is my AOS interview?? No one knows!
