We've been making a conscious effort to cut back on the frequency of eating out, so when we do go out it's somewhere good and special.

My fiance isn't with me right now so I don't eat out at all anymore. I don't have anyone to go with and it's no fun sitting by yourself in a resturant :P. When he was here we went out about once or twice a month.

Some of our favorite places were Cracker-Barrel and Shoney's.

We hardly ever go out to dinner, my wife prefers to cook at home, which I totally appreciate. There is no comparison of restaurant food and hers is by far superior.

A couple times a month. Most of the time we just have free water. (trying to save money!) And it's always under $10 each. I like going out to eat, Sujeet does not.

Preferred places for choice of vegetarian food:

El Ranchito -local Mexican restaurant

East Buffet -Chinese food

Yep. Drinks can really raise the tab, including the tax and tip. I've read that drinking while eating actually makes things worse for people who get heartburn because it dilutes the stomach acid.

We go out and try new restaurants almost every day. There are so many restaurants in NYC,

we never have to go to the same place twice.

I miss NYC restaurants! mmm, Lil Frankies. And Jellado. And MaryAnn's. etc,etc :crying:

At least once a week, usually 2. The only chain I ever eat at is for breakfast (once every 2 months or so)! NEVER for dinner. I hate chains.

Highly inaccurate:
  • water is essential for digestive processes (most of which involve hydrolysis)
  • diluting the acid would actually lessen heartburn

I can remember correcting my dad on this point (from my high-school bio text).

However: it IS true that sodas oft increase (rather than slake) thirst (and if you're in a resto which DOESN't do free refills, this is a nice ripoff-profit for them)
