I voted a couple times of month, but that's an overestimate. I have a hard time paying to eat things at a restaurant that I can make just as well at home for a lot less money. When I do eat out, it's usually something that I can't make myself at home.

Have you guys ever worked at places like IHOP or Applebee's or Chili's? There's no way I'd eat there again. I prefer small privately owned restaurants. More attention to detail and fresh ingredients. Not to mention the level of service is a little better, for the most part. You pay a little more but its really worth it.

We eat out about 2-3 times a week . I like Tex-Mex so I have made him a believer! Mainly we hit up Café Adobe, two Middle-Eastern places here called Fadi's and Dimassi's , Pappas and we do breakfast virtually every weekend at Le Peep. Today we had Italian at Carrabba's. I was craving a peach bellini :thumbs: . Since most of the time we are having lunch out or Tex-Mex, it is not terribly expensive.

I don't go out to eat too often...it's a waste of money. I prefer to make something at home. I've moved to a new state so I'm not really up on the restaurants around here. I love Applebee's though and Thai...just have to find it around here now.

My wife is a super cheapskate. She doesn't see any reason to go to restaurants when she can prepare meals for a fraction of the cost at home. She won't eat my "American" cooking even though I'm a decent cook, so she does all the cooking. It's a win-win situation for me because I save $$$ and I don't have to cook. So we only go to restaurants 4 to 6 times a year on special occassions. She never likes to go to the same restaurant twice, so we go to a different place every time on the rare occassions we do go.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Depends on the cuisine and the food. If it's a cuisine I'm relatively new to, then I'd like to see how others cook it first (e.g. before last year, African cuisine was new to me and I'd never tried injera before. I wouldn't have known how it's supposed to taste). Also, there are some foods that I'd definitely not want to try making at home due to how it's cooked, or how difficult it might be to buy the ingredients in small quantities.

I love trying new foods and drinks, but like many of you, we're trying hard to save money, so we eat out only a couple of times a month... my in-laws (born and raised right here in California) often order Mexican food, but I've gotten them to try new things like Chinese vegetarian food (mock meats, etc.), Eritrean food, and Vietnamese food :)

Couple times a month, we usually have juice or soda with the meal, an average of 12 bucks per person and we change places often but we go the most to a local pizza parlor and a local chinese restaurant.

More than I should. New Haven has a lot of tasty restaurants and a number of great, cheap places. Chinese noodle houses, falafel, a great pizza place, all within a block of my apartment. I average about twice a week, most of the time under ten bucks, usually because I'm too beat to cook or was out of stuff to pack for lunch.

But then there's the going out with friends & colleagues. Eating out's a big part of my entertainment budget. And I'm a bit of a food snob, so I'm unlikely to go out somewhere where I can make the food better myself, so it's not going to be an Applebee's but the new tapas place or Asian fusion place or the elegant Malaysian place.... I try to keep those expense to once a month or make the department pay for it.

We eat out at least once during the week and I never cook at weekends. Usually it's family restaurants during the week. Saturday nights it's usually Chili's, Lonestar, Outback or somewhere like that. We have a screwed up schedule and have dinner at lunchtime and a snack in the evening.
