hi guys!

i have a question again. if i decided to go to SLEC at 1pm, will i still finish my medical within 2 days? i am from cebu and i plan to leave here in the morning and when i arrive in manila, i will go directly to SLEC. so probably it will be in the afternoon already. can i still finish my medical in 2 days (like those who start in the morning) if i start in the afternoon on the first day?

thanks again guys :)

I went at SLEC around 2pm for my first day medical. And I finish around 3.50pm.. On my second day, they didnt release me yet coz I still have to undergo another series of Xrays. (Twas because of my TB history).

If you think you dont have any problem as far as the communicable diseases are concern, then yes, you will finish your medical within two days.. But if you had TB (or other illness that might need further test) I do suggest to go to SLEC as early as you can so you will not be going back and forth to SLEC for days like what happened to me.

Good luck gurl.

Better have the medical at least 2 weeks early in case something "pops up" like the above poster mentioned.

People with medicals only 7 days or so before the embassy interview have been delayed in completing it and had to reschedule embassy interview. Normally about 2 months to get another one.

My wife and anak did St. Lukes almost 2 months early.

What do you need to actually get your medical 2 months in advance? Don't you need to show them your appointment letter? Normally, packet 4 arrives to your door a month prior to your interview, am i right? Thanks!

My wife and anak [K3 /K4] got the packet with the appointment letter 2 months prior to the interview.

However: I've "seen" where people used the NOA2 to do the medical instead tho.

I called USEM shortly after the petition arrived from NVC and they gave me the interview and medical dates and informed me they could take the medical anytime.

Yes, you can have your medical even without your appointment letter (you can get it at SLEC counter F, Ground Floor IF they have it).. Just print out the medical/interview appointment dates you will find here: http://203.177.135.10/ivappointment/login.asp and bring it with your NOA 2.

I had my medical 1 month before my interview schedule (last March 2007). But since my husband sent me the appointment packet, I have the appointment letter to show at SLEC. I did not receive my packet from USEM, not even after my interview.

For those who don't have the packet yet but already have the schedule (as posted in their website), you can print that schedule from the website and show that to SLEC. You can also call SLEC and ask for a "packet pick-up". SLEC will request the packet at USEM and you can pick-up the packet at SLEC at the ground floor (windows F or E) then you can proceed with your medical.

For those who don't have the packet and schedule yet, they still accepts the NOA2 for the medical. Medical exam is good for a year, so that will be fine to have it done earlier.

JIMA1971 -> August 20 is a LEGAL HOLIDAY as shown on USEM's website as well. USEM and SLEC will be closed for that day. You may have to call them to verify and so you can re-schedule your medical appointment.

Good Luck to everyone!
