Submitting aos trying to make sure I have everything

Good morning. I'm sponsoring my wife to come to the United States but I've been in her home country the past three years. I have my dad to to the household sponsor but the question is about my own application. When I sign my own application since I didn't have any income in the United States how to a fill the application? My dad makes way over the minimum requirements so it's no problem there. I just don't want any delays on my own part. Also one more question. When I upload my dad's transcripts, is that all they need and his birth certificate? I'm in nvc and it's all they say I need but if there's anything else I can upload I would like to while I'm at this stage before I submit. Is it necessary to have his w2 since I already have three years of his transcripts? Also on my own application since I have no taxable USA income do I just put n/a on the application in certain spots?

You're the primary sponsor. Your dad is the joint. 

 

Both of you have to sign the same sponsorship form...you as the sponsor and your dad as the joint sponsor

he will to include any W2's and/or 1099 forms plus proof of US residency like a state DL  / why immigration does not accept address on IRS statements is a puzzler

 

u need to have filed US taxes or if not working in her country,  u need IRS statement showing non filling

How do I get a non filing statement from the IRS?

Thanks this was very helpful. I have an active bank account and my state driver's license. This form I can get it locally at the IRS office?

So for me I need drivers license, bank account and irs non filing? That's it?

For my dad his w2 that matches the transcripts I have for him, his driver's license and birth certificate? Would this be all they need?

It's critical you become an A Student of the I-864 instructions.  Your questions indicate you have not.

 

You are the sponsor.  Dad is not a "household sponsor".  He is a joint sponsor, who provides an I-864 in addition to yours.  If Dad is married, his spouse provides an I-864a.  Those instructions are clear, that at least the most recent tax return copy or Tax Return Transcript are required, AND proof of both US Citizenship (if a citizen) and evidence they actually currently live in the USA are required.  Get on that homework.

Ok your first statement I'm confused about. I was looking online and was trying to see which one to put my dad under. One guy on another thread said that nvc sent him back to add his father as an household sponsor since they were all living under the same household when they come to America. They rejected him being as an joint sponsor. The guy on the other post had no income as well and was also staying in the spouse country.  To clarify my situation me my spouse and my dad will be under the same household and staying together when we arrive. So do I still need to put him under joint instead of household?

Yes.  "Looking online" is not the same as becoming an A-Student of the I-864 instructions.  It's also not the same as getting correct advice here, from "me".  However, I and other  members here are not a substitute for the instructions.  If you don't study them, you won't know what you don't know, so won't know what to ask.

 

Follow my advice and the form instructions and you'll do ok.

The normal action is to file your forms as the primary sponsor and for your fathers forms as a joint sponsor. That is the usual interpretation of the uscis instructions.  Sometimes individual uscis workers make different decisions. Then you follow those instructions if they are different

In a Visa case no USCIS workers are involved.  NVC and the Consulates are Dept. of State, not Homeland Security.
