My answer is No.

There are plenty of political websites out there and if I want to discuss the Presidential Election, the War on Terror, etc. I find those places much better suited to the conversation. For me, it's getting old to see so many posts of political news that have nothing to do with a VisaJourney.

Yes, I know I do not have to read them or participate in them; I am saying that for me I am getting tired of seeing them here on VJ.

Off topic is just that, off topic. If there are any non-immigration political discussions going on elsewhere they will be moved to Off Topic. If you don't like the discussions, don't read them.

Off-Topic is exactly as it says: Off-Topic. The Topic of this website is immigration, therefore Off-Topic will have talk about anything not immigration related. If you only want to read about Immigration, don't go into Off-Topic.

My impression is the OP has seen political threads that support a political view that he doesn't like so he wants to silence those views. I've had people actually post in political threads that I started, telling me to keep my liberal politics to myself, meanwhile others post their political views without the blink of an eye. It's the old, 'nobody's allowed to have an opinion but me' syndrome...a terrible affliction called the O'Rielly Factor. We need a telethon to find a cure, fast.

Key word...community. We're a community of people and we like to discuss all kinds of things. There are a lot of different topics in OT that have nothing to do with immigration, yet you singled out the political threads. Me thinks you have an axe to grind. Welcome to VJ!
