We're going for our interview in 15 days exactly--excited and nervous ofcourse. I know many current members are empathic enough to stick around on the forum even after they have been approved for green card so can people who have recently gone on interviews please post. I've been reading past posts but only few are recent. Please don't direct me to the local reviews because those don't have any updated ones for my local office, ATLANTA. Please help the many of us going on interviews in August by posting details about your recent AOS interview if you attended one in July or August 2007. Thanks in advance. (I promise to come back and post for all about my experience, no matter how it goes).

3/25/07 AOS & EAD received

3/30/07 NOA of AOS & EAD

4/24/07 biometrics appointment

6/26/07 Infopass appointment for EAD (no interim EAD anymore, will send email)

6/27/07 infopass appointment to check response to email: email was not sent, promised to send again)

6/27/07 received phone call from USCIS local office that there is RFE (I-864)

7/5/07 I-864 sent

7/13/07 EAD card production

7/16/07 EAD touched

7/25/07 email saying ead approval notice sent

7/26/07 EAD in hand

7/26/07 interview date for 8/20

8/20/07 interview went well RFE (TB test)/ 485 approved pending receipt of RFE

8/27/07 RFE submitted

9/5/07 CRIS email saying we've sent welcome letter

9/7/07 GC card production

Cecy, i did look through and like I stated earlier, there are some interview experiences but very few are "recent" i.e. within the past one month (the ones that are there, I've already seen). I'm just attempting to encourage people who come on to update about their status as approved (and we have many) but don't describe their experiences to do so. It's nice to see even more recent ones. I'm sure you're not freaking out yet but wait till you get a date and you'll see that you can't read enough about other's experiences...

Greenslippers, sweetie, calm down. Really.

It's understandable that you're nervous. And excited. You will likely find that the format of the interview in Atlanta is going to very similar to those who interviewed there a year ago.

As someone who adjusted from the VWP - which was not as widely apoken about on VJ then as it is now - in Portland, Maine - and can't you see all the Mainahs taking over the board? - I understand not being able to get specific information. Really, I do. So make the best of what you have available here, don't get cranky with people when they try to help you, and truly - STOP PANICKING. You're going to be just fine.

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

My feeling exactly.I don't think that the way interviews are carried on changes much with time.

Greenslippers, yes I know I have time until the interview, but so far I don't feel stressed. I know we'll still have some documents to put together, but I've read a lot about good and bad interviews, my husband and I started checking the question list on VJ and I think that it really depends on what agent interviews you and what his/her mood is that day.

Visualize it as going well, think about what you can be asked and talk about the questions that are more likely to come up. I'm sure you'll do fine and people with interviews will continue to give reviews.

Good luck when you have to go.

By the way, what you can also do is: check timelines of couples who have been interviewed recently in Atlanta and PM them to find out more about their experience.

We just went through our interview August 1, and it went well. Ours was in Seattle, but we went well prepared (and our interviewer even commented about it at the end) and it was businesslike, and occasionally friendly. All in all, not a bad experience.

Have your paperwork (everything listed on your interview notice, and also recommended by the VJ guides) organized so you can find things asked for and you should be good to go. We didn't need to show any of our previously submitted originals, but at the end of the interview showed photos and documentation we were a couple and my wife really lived with us, such as the copy of the two checks sent for AOS and EAD which were on our joint bank account, mail to our house and PO box addressed to us as a couple, or my wife.

The interviewer did not take any of these documents, just looked through them as I showed her piece by piece, and then she told us we had been approved, and all the security checks had been completed so we should be getting the green card very quickly.

Good luck!
